- UQ Communications and Samsung Electronics successfully demonstrated WiMAX 2 field trial under mobile environment, according to a July 7, 2011 report by the Japan Today. UQ Communications said it will continue high speed data transmission and system performance evaluation tests under outside environment by adopting WiMAX 2 trial base station.

- UQ Communications and YTL Communications have inked an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) for WiMAX business tie-up, according to a July 7, 2011 report by the Wireless Federation. As per the MOU, the two companies will team up for WiMAX collaboration and jointly build a WiMAX ecosystem.
